So this has been on the board, off the board, on the board over the last 6 months. I had a beautiful bamboo worktop in my new kitchen. I promised myself I would be better than everyone else and I WOULD oil it AT LEAST every 6 months, preferably every 4 to keep it on its toes.
So it's been 6 months.
Two weeks ago I notice suspect looking mould deep in the grain by the sink. hmmm... I really should oil it.
Two days ago I gave the 'patch' a harsh rub down with wire wool. The mould is still there but now there is a large unprotected patch of wood.
Yesterday I ventured into the garage and found the danish oil. Couldn't get the lid off. Left it on the floor by the toilet.
It's still there.
The rubbed down patch got nice and wet this morning. Lovely.
I have started a blog. That will help the mouldy bamboo. sigh.
